What Does ‘Fade’ Mean in Betting?

Fading or to “fade”, refers to betting against a particular betting opinion. This is done by betting on the opposite side of the majority of the bets. The opposite of this would be to ‘tail’, as in to tail another bettor’s picks.

For example, if the majority of bets are on the New York Yankees to win a game against the Boston Red Sox, then fading means betting on the Boston Red Sox to win the game.
