Fight Preview
The heavyweight division continues to be somewhat of a circus, as the biggest names have evaded each other throughout the entirety of 2023. However, boxing fans will get a bout that they have been demanding for an extended period in the opening months of 2024, as Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are likely to clash in the opening months. No location or date has yet been agreed, but it is expected that the fight will happen in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua’s camp have been in discussions with Wilder’s team for the last couple of months, and an announcement surrounding the bout is imminent. AJ warmed up for the huge showdown in the middle of August, as he collided with Robert Helenius at the O2 Arena. Joshua was able to get back on track following back-to-back losses against Usyk, as he scored a KO win in the seventh round.

However, there are clearly doubts surrounding whether he has regressed in recent years, and there are huge questions as to whether he can perform against the very best in the division. Wilder remains one of the top stars in the heavyweight division, with his only losses coming against Tyson Fury in 2020 and 2021.
However, he got back on track in October 2022, as he stunningly knocked out Helenius in the opening round in New York. A staggering 42 of his 43 wins have been scored by stoppage, and the American is gunning for a fourth potential showdown against Fury to right the wrongs on his professional record.
Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder Prediction
Joshua struggled for long periods to score the KO win over Helenius at the O2, and we expect the Brit to struggle once again against Wilder next year. We could see the American making a statement against his heavyweight rival with a stoppage win in the opening six rounds.
