Fight Preview
Huge boxing action from the women’s division takes place in Manchester this weekend, as unified super middleweight champion, Franchon Crews-Dezurn, takes on Savannah Marshall. Marshall comes into the bout after suffering a first professional defeat of her career against Claressa Shields in October of last year, which saw her drop the WBO middleweight gold.
The former champion already has her sights set on a showdown with the American two-time Olympic champion for a second time, meaning only a victory will do in Manchester. Marshall has won ten of her 13 professional fights by stoppage, which includes dominant performances against Femke Hermans, Lolita Muzeya, and Maria Lindberg.

The reigning super middleweight champion comes into this bout as the huge outsider in the betting. However, she was as professional as ever on her previous appearance, as she scored a unanimous decision win over Elin Cederroos to successfully defend the WBA and IBF super middleweight titles in New York.
Like Marshall, Crews-Dezurn’s only professional defeat came at the hands of Shields, as she was beaten by unanimous decision after four rounds on Shields’s first professional bout in November 2016. Since that loss, she has won eight of her fights, with her only blip coming against Alejandra Jimenez, which was ruled as a non-contest after the challenger failed a drug test.
Franchon Crews-Dezurn vs Savannah Marshall Prediction
It looks set to be a huge showdown between these two stars, with both looking to force a rematch against Shields. However, Marshall looks like the standout contender in Manchester, and we can see her storming back to form with a stoppage victory.
