Fight Preview
It has been a long time coming, but boxing fans look set to finally get the heavyweight unification bout that they have been craving in 2024. An agreement between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been officially reached, with the two set to do battle for all the heavyweight gold in early 2024. The bout has been rumored for the last year, before the Gypsy King announced his bout with Francis Ngannou.
Fury remains the clear favorite in the betting, as he will boast both the height and reach advantage over the former undisputed cruiserweight champion. The Gypsy King made his last meaningful defense of the titles in October 2022, as he defeated Derek Chisora in their trilogy match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Usyk has also been active over the last 12 months. His only bout in 2022 saw him successfully defend the WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight titles with a comfortable decision victory over Anthony Joshua. However, he needed his fair share of luck to overcome his only challenger in 2023, as a contentious refereeing decision allowed Usyk to continue after being laid out by Daniel Dubois in August.
Dubois’s shot was deemed legal by many experts, making the decision to allow Usyk over four minutes to recover extremely questionable. The reigning champion quickly recomposed himself, and scored a KO victory in the ninth round. But, there was evidence in that bout of Usyk looking vulnerable for the first time as a heavyweight.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Prediction
This will be a sensational fight between the best heavyweights on the planet. Despite looking nervy in his latest title defense, we could see Usyk being the man standing tall in the Middle East. But, we would expect the fight to go the distance for this to be a winning selection.
