Preview

St. Louis got in the win column for the first time this season in Week 2, winning a contested home game against the Arlington Renegades. QB A.J. McCarron had an excellent bounce back performance. He completed 19 of 29 passes for 248 yards and 2 TDs. RB Mataeo Durant also made a huge impact in his debut, rushing 14 times for 104 yards and a TD. St. Louis’ offensive weapons don’t stop there, with WR Marcell Ateman now at 10 catches for 174 yards and 3 TDs through the first two games.

The Brahmas improved to 2-0 last week, and are one of only two undefeated teams in the UFL through two weeks. They’ll be tasked with slowing down a red-hot Battlehawks offense to stay unbeaten. San Antonio’s win over the Showboats last week gave them a ton of momentum. They trailed 16-0 entering the 4th quarter, but outscored Memphis 20-3 in the final period. QB Chase Garbers played well, completing 29 of 40 passes for 287 yards, 3 TDs, and an INT, and will aim to continue improving.

Prediction

This should be an excellent game between two very solid UFL teams. Both have plus odds to make the UFL playoffs, increasing the stakes for this game. St. Louis is the better team on paper, but is coming off a loss and will be on the road in this matchup. After their sensational comeback in Week 2, I see the Brahmas carrying that momentum into a home victory and 3-0 record.

UFL Picks:

  • Brahmas 26, Battlehawks 24 (SA +1.0)
