Game Preview
Orlando fell to 1-8 with their loss against the Brahmas, remaining in last place in the XFL. They had a thrilling win over the 8-1 Defenders a few weeks ago, giving them at least one signature win to remember. Otherwise, this season has been a total bust. Not only is the Guardians record worse, but their attendance also shrunk compared to the 2020 XFL season. Orlando can at least end the season right by winning here.
The Battlehawks were dominated at home against the Sea Dragons on Sunday, losing a crucial game that would have allowed them to clinch a playoff spot. Now in a tie for 2nd-place with Seattle at 6-3, St. Louis needs a win in this game and a Sea Dragons loss to guarantee they make it. If both teams win or lose, the tiebreaker could still go either way. A loss here by the Battlehawks would put them in a very difficult spot.
Picks
The Battlehawks looked truly awful in last week’s 18-point loss to the Sea Dragons. Their defense played nowhere near their typical level, raising several concerns about their ability to win moving forward. With that being said, St. Louis is still a much better team than Orlando this season, with home-field advantage in this game. It’s hard to imagine them losing such a crucial game to a 1-8 team, but they may not cover.
