Game Preview
Seattle lost a thrilling game to the 7-1 Defenders, dropping to 5-3 on the season. The Sea Dragons are in a peculiar position, sitting outside of the current playoff field despite their strong level of play. They came up short against the division leader last week, but can still climb back into the #2 spot in the division with a win over St. Louis here. A loss, on the other hand, will eliminate the Sea Dragons from playoff contention.
The Battlehawks got a massive win over Vegas on Saturday, improving to 6-2 on the year. They trailed late but pulled off an exceptional fake punt play for a 64-yard touchdown. St. Louis has been fantastic at winning close games late, thanks to their capable offense and lock-down defense. They’ll have a chance to both clinch a playoff spot and eliminate the Sea Dragons with a win here. The #1 spot is still in play too.
Picks
This is a do-or-die game for both these teams as they each seek to claim a playoff spot. This has potential to be the best game of the XFL season so far. The Battlehawks won the first matchup in Seattle back in the 2nd week of the season, but the Sea Dragons have improved quite a bit since then. I think this will be a back-and-forth game where either team could wind up on top. I’d favor Seattle based on their recent play.
