Game Preview

Vegas got a great win last week, blowing past the Brahmas en route to a 26-12 victory. Unfortunately, the Vipers are stuck in a brutal north division, where their 2-5 record has them sitting 3 games out of 3rd place in the division. This resulted in their elimination from playoff contention, so the Vipers will be playing for pride from here on out. They’ve been heating up, and could still cause trouble for their next opponents.

The Battlehawks got another solid win on Sunday, taking down the competitive Roughnecks in Houston. Their elite defense continues to be their main calling card, although QB A.J. McCarron and the offense have been playing much better as well lately. St. Louis has one of the XFL’s top teams, but is still in danger of missing the playoffs thanks to a brutal division. The pressure is on to win this game with Seattle up next.

Picks

When these two teams last met in Vegas, the Battlehawks ran away with a blowout road victory. That doesn’t bode well for the Vipers chances of winning this one in St. Louis, although I do expect this game to be closer than their first matchup. Despite it being closer, I still see the Battlehawks coming away with the win with much more on the line for them. I’ll take St. Louis to defeat the Vipers here by a score of 22-13.
