Event Preview
The Formula 1 action resumes this weekend, as the British Grand Prix is staged at Silverstone. This race was first held in 1950, with the drivers involved covering a total distance of 306.198km. A total of 52 laps will be completed by the field, with two DRS Detection Zones available to aid with overtaking.
There will be 18 corners for drivers to navigate at Silverstone, with the lap record held by Lewis Hamilton. The British driver also holds the record for most race wins, as the Mercedes driver has won his home race on eight occasions. However, Ferrari recorded a record-extending 18th victory last year as Carlos Sainz finished over three seconds clear of the field.

Max Verstappen finished off the podium last year, but he comes into the race in Britain after winning each of the last five races. One of his most dominant performances came in Austria, as he won the sprint, before landing the race win and fastest lap. The victory extended his championship lead to 81 points, and it could be hard to bet against the Dutchman this weekend.
Sergio Perez was one of the best performing drivers in Austria, as he recovered from a poor qualifying session to finish third. Ferrari looked very competitive at the Red Bull Ring, with Charles Leclerc finishing second and Carlos Sainz landing sixth after being demoted following a time penalty.
It was a weekend to forget for Mercedes, as both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton struggled. The latter eventually finished eighth, and lacked pace to compete with Lando Norris in the McLaren. Aston Martin finished the race strongly, with Fernando Alonso taking fifth after the grid penalties.
British Grand Prix Prediction
The British Grand Prix is one of the few races that Verstappen is yet to win. However, we fully expect that to change this weekend. There could be value in siding with home drivers to complete the grid, with Hamilton taking second, and Lando Norris taking third in an improving McLaren.
