The Dutchman bounced back after a disappointing outing at the Singapore Grand Prix, as he finished nearly 20 seconds clear of Lando Norris in the Japanese Grand Prix. That victory was his 14th victory of the season, and extended his advantage over teammate Sergio Perez.
The Japanese Grand Prix was a strong weekend for McLaren, as the team celebrated a double podium, with Lando Norris taking second and Oscar Piastri finishing in third. At present, they look like the team that is closest to the Red Bull pace.

Ferrari wasnāt able to back up their win in Singapore in the previous round, as Charles Leclerc was their best finisher in fourth. However, the Constructor will face a fight for second in the standings, as Mercedes have looked incredibly consistent throughout the season.
