Match Preview

One of the most prestigious races on the Formula 1 schedule will take place this weekend, as the Monaco Grand Prix is staged. This race has been held annually since 1929, with the field of drivers completing a total of 260.286 km across the streets of Monaco. It is one of the shortest races of the season, as it falls short of the FIA’s mandated distance.

Ayrton Senna is the most successful driver in the history of the race, having won the event on six previous occasions. McLaren has been the dominant team after recording 15 previous race wins at the Monaco Grand Prix. Max Verstappen was a comfortable winner of the race last year after finishing 27 seconds clear of Fernando Alonso.

Red Bull has dominated the streets of Monaco in recent editions, winning each of the last three, and four of the previous five editions. Verstappen bounced back to form at Imola last weekend, but he was forced to remain focused following a late charge by Lando Norris. Norris once again looks set to be Verstappen’s biggest rival in Monaco, as the McLaren boasts excellent qualifying pace.

Oscar Piastri could be hard to overlook for the same reasons, while Charles Leclerc boasts an excellent qualifying record at his home circuit. Leclerc could be among the standout picks to win the race this weekend due to that reason, as there will be a massive advantage to the best qualifier in Monaco.

Monaco Grand Prix Prediction

Leclerc’s qualifying record in his home race is a standout trend to consider this weekend. For that reason, we will be siding with the Ferrari driver landing victory this Sunday.
