Event Preview
The BMW Championship is one of the standout events on the PGA Tour. It is the longest running event on the regular PGA Tour calendar outside of the majors, and is one of the most lucrative to players with a purse of $20 million up for grabs. The field will compete over 7,366 yards at Olympia Fields Country Club, with the event being a par 70.
Patrick Cantlay won the event for the second year running in 2022, as he bested Scott Stallings by a stroke. The American also holds the joint record at the event, after finishing 27-under when landing victory in a playoff against Bryson DeChambeau in 2021.

However, a number of the leading contenders in the betting have previously won this event. Jon Rahm claimed victory at Olympia Fields in 2020, as he beat Dustin Johnson in a very high-scoring edition of the event. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy claimed victory in 2012 when the event was staged at Crooked Stick, beating Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood by two shots.
Tommy Fleetwood is a player that comes into the event in excellent recent form. The Englishman finished in a tie for third at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last weekend, finishing just a shot behind the top two. Luke Glover won the previous event on the PGA Tour, as he bested Cantlay in a playoff.
BMW Championship Prediction
Course form could count for a long this weekend, which means that we will be taking a chance on Hideki Matsuyama. The star finished the 2020 edition in third overall and was just two shots off the lead. A recovery will be needed this weekend, but his performance last weekend to finish 16th is a huge bonus.
