Event Preview
The next stop on the European Tour will see the BMW PGA Championship staged this weekend. This event has been staged since 1955, and is now competed in September after being moved from its initial position of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in the United Kingdom.
Wentworth Club hosts the event, with the field competing over a total of 7,267 yards. A huge $9 million is available to players involved this weekend at the stroke play event, with the winner given an exemption to next yearโs US Open and the next three Open Championships. The tournament aggregate record score is held by Brian Bamford, with An Byeong-hun holding the par record.

Rory McIlroy is the favorite to land a second victory at the event this weekend, but there would still be questions surrounding the back injury that he sustained a few weeks ago. The star finished second in the event 12 months ago. Shane Lowry was the winner of the BMW PGA Championship in 2022, and positives would have been taken from his fightback at the Irish Open last weekend.
Viktor Hovland makes a very obvious claim this weekend, as the Norwegian couldnโt be in any better form. The 25-year-old has won on each of his previous two appearances, which included a stunning performance at the Tour Championship at the end of August.
BMW PGA Championship Prediction
We will be happy to side with Jon Rahm this weekend. The Spanish star is yet to win this event, but he has finished as the runner-up in two of the previous four editions.
