The Sports Emmy award-nominated event will be an interesting clash this year, with history being made as Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang will be involved alongside Max Homa and Rory McIlroy.

Event Preview
The Match has been one of the most exciting sporting events to be staged on the golf schedule in recent years, with the clashes seeing record breaking viewers watch the action on a Monday evening in the U.S. The first edition was held back in November 2018, as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson clashed for a $9 million purse.
Last year, The Match was staged in late June, with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce landing victory against Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry at the Wynn Golf Club. The NFL stars were the standout winners, but it was commercially not the most successful event, with only 782,000 fans watching the golf.

This mixed event will be the first edition of The Match since June, and it will be staged at the scenic course in Florida. Rory McIlroy will be playing in the event for the first time, and the four-time major champion will be the clear favorite to land victory in the betting. Max Homa could offer value in the betting after showing some impressive form on the course already this term, including a 13th place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Rose Zhang is one of the fastest growing stars on the LPGA Tour, having won a single event on the tour last year. She has picked up the Mark H. McCormack Medal on three separate occasions, and in 2024, she will be looking to win a first major event after finishing in a tie for ninth at the Evian Championship.
