Event Preview
The John Deere Classic is one of the final events on the PGA Tour before the final major of the season. The field will be looking to build momentum ahead of the Open at Royal Liverpool at the end of July. This event has been staged since 1971, and players will compete across a total distance of 7,257 yards. The event is a par 71, with the stroke play tournament offering a share of the $7.4 million purse.
Some huge stars have built momentum ahead of The Open at this event, with Bryson DeChambeau, Jordan Spieth, and Steve Stricker all landing victories since 2010. J.T. Poston is the reigning champion, as he landed victory by three shots in 2022 from Emiliano Grillo and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

Russell Henley heads the betting this weekend after finishing in the top 20 at the competitive Travelers Championship at the end of June. The 34-year-old has finished in the top 20 in each of his previous four appearances, and that consistency could be challenging to overlook this weekend. Emiliano Grillo could have a strong chance this weekend as he played incredibly well 12 months ago to finish second.
The Valspar could be an intriguing angle, with four previous winners having also landed victory at the John Deere Classic. Taylor Moore could make a fascinating angle based on that trend, as he finished fourth in the Rocket Mortgage Classic last time out, and appears to be in solid form.
John Deere Classic Prediction
We like the Valspar betting angle, but will instead be siding with the second from that event as our main pick. Adam Schenk finished just a shot off the lead at Copperhead, and has previous experience around the greens at the event in Illinois.
