Event Preview
The eyes of the world will be on Augusta National this weekend, as the 2025 Masters will be staged. The field will compete over 7,555 yards at the Georgia course, with the players competing for their share of the $20 million purse.
Scottie Scheffler has won two of the last three editions of the event, but the record of reigning champions has been poor in recent years. Despite that, the American deserves huge respect. However, he could be too skinny at the top of the betting.
Rory McIlroy will be aiming to end his long major drought this weekend. But, he has never previously won The Masters. His best showing came when finishing second in 2022. He was shockingly cut in 2023, before finishing in a tie for 22nd last year.

Two-time major winner Bryson DeChambeau could be the leading hope from the LIV Golf Tour. The American finished in an excellent tie for sixth last year, but he had previously missed the cut in the 2022 and 2023 editions.
Tommy Fleetwood is usually one of the most consistent players in major events, and he has made the cut in all but one of his eight appearances at The Masters. The Englishman finished in an excellent tie for third in 2024.
Shane Lowry is another player who is very consistent in majors. Lowry won the 2019 Open Championship, and he has made the cut on his last five appearances at The Masters. His previous best showing came when finishing in a tie for third in 2022.
The Masters Picks
Ludvig Aberg appears to be a player with plenty going in his favor this weekend. The 25-year-old has won five professional events, and he has been consistent throughout this season. He would have learnt a lot about the course last season when finishing as the runner-up, and he could be a live chance on his second appearance at Augusta.
Free Pick:
- Ludvig Aberg
