The final event before The Masters will take place across the coming weekend, as players will be in action at the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio. A total of 7,435 yards will be covered on the Oaks Course, with a purse of $9.5 million being up for grabs in the par 72 event.
Tommy Armour III holds the aggregate record, after finishing with a score of 254 in 2003. Meanwhile, Mike Souchak holds the par record after finishing 27-under when landing victory in 1955.
Akshay Bhatia is the defending champion at the Texas Open this year, as the American won a thrilling playoff in the 2024 event. However, a number of former winners of the event dominate the betting.

Corey Conners headlines the main contenders, as the Canadian goes in search of a third title in the event. His second win was achieved in 2023, and he arrives in Texas in excellent form after finishing in the top ten on his last three appearances.
Keegan Bradley should also be considered this weekend. The American has finished in the top 20 on five occasions this season, and he has previous experience at TPC San Antonio after finishing in a tie for eighth in the 2022 event.
Hideki Matsuyama also boasts leading claims this weekend. He missed the cut for the first time this season at TPC Sawgrass, but has fared very well in the Texas Open in recent seasons, finishing in a tie for seventh in 2023.
Valero Texas Open Picks
Patrick Cantlay looks to hold red-hot claims this weekend after a strong start to the 2025 season. He has finished in the top five on two occasions, and has also featured in the top 15 on four occasions this term. He will be making his first start at TPC San Antonio, but he holds leading claims.
