Race Preview
The action at the Breeders’ Cup continues following the Classic this weekend, with the two standout sprints on the card being staged. The first of those will be the Turf Sprint, which will see the field of 12 runners compete over five furlongs at Santa Anita.
There is a typically open feel to the race this year, and it could be worth taking a price based on the fact that there has been just one winning favorite in the previous nine editions. Bradsell has been largely progressing in the United Kingdom and Ireland this season, with his victory over Highfield Princess in the G1 King’s Stand Stakes at Ascot likely to be one of the best pieces of form on offer.

Live In The Dream also returns back to five furlongs after beating Highfield Princess at York in late August. It looks to be a positive that he has already made a start in the U.S., but he finished a disappointing fourth in the G2 Woodford Stakes over 5 ½ furlongs. Caravel deserves respect after his win in this race 12 months ago, but he has fallen short on each of his previous two efforts.
Motorious could be a runner at a price that could be ready for this challenge after previously landing victory in a 12-runner affair at Del Mar over five furlongs. The five-year-old has won twice from three starts in stakes company, and he will start from a favorable high draw at Santa Anita this weekend.
Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint Prediction
The Turf Sprint could be a race to take a chance on a price. Arzak has looked largely progressive for Michael Trombetta this term, and comes to Santa Anita after winning on back-to-back starts. The latest of those was an impressive two-length win over Our Shot in the G2 Woodford Stakes. Joel Rosario has won two and placed in four from nine editions of the Turf Sprint, and Big Invasion could have a role to play after landing victory at Woodbine on his previous start.
