Match Preview
The Epsom Oaks is one of the most prestigious races on the turf for fillies, with the Classic covering a distance of a mile and four. It is the third Classic of the season in the United Kingdom, and there have been notable winners of the race throughout history. Among those include multiple Group One victors such as Enable, Love, and Tuesday.
Aidan O’Brien once again holds a strong hand for the Oaks, as the trainer chases a fourth win in six years. Ylang Ylang is clear on ratings, and she should come on from her return to action when fifth in the G1 1,000 Guineas. She was very impressive throughout last season, which included a success over a mile in the G1 Fillies’ Mile.

O’Brien could also be represented by Rubies Are Red, who has attracted notable market support throughout the week. Ezeliya is a raider for Dermot Weld, and she boasts a very progressive profile. She was excellent over a mile and two on her previous start to beat Purple Lily by just under a length.
Forest Fairly also holds slid claims for Ralph Beckett after landing a key trial over a mile and three at Chester in May. She stayed on strongly that day, and more could be expected over this increased trip. There will also be Royal interest in the Classic, with Treasure looking to reverse the form with You Got To Me from the Oaks Trial Fillies’ Stakes.
Epsom Oaks Prediction
I am extremely keen on Secret Satire for the Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy partnership this weekend. She came on from her return to action when third over a mile and two at Sandown to win the G3 Musidora by a commanding two-length margin. That prep race has been key in recent seasons, with two of the last three winners following up at Epsom.
