Two high-quality days of racing action are set for Newmarket across Friday and Saturday. The feature on Friday comes in the form of the G1 Bet365 Fillies’ Mile. Fillies aged two will compete over the mile, with a place in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf up for grabs.

Race Preview
The G1 Fillies’ Mile has been held annually in October since 1973. It has been part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge since 2008. Fillies aged two will compete over the mile, with recent winners of the race including Ylang Ylang, Inspiral, and Iridessa.
Desert Flower sets the standard on Friday for the team of Charlie Appleby and William Buick. However, it is worth noting that connections have never teamed up for a winner in the Fillies’ Mile.
Still, the two-year-old’s form reads very strong, with a key angle being her win over the re-opposing January in the G2 May Hill Stakes last month.

Ryan Moore keeps faith with Aidan O’Brien’s January this weekend, despite having the options to ride Ballet Slippers and Dreamy. The latter could be the most intriguing O’Brien contender, with Tom Marquand taking the ride.
She was a winner over a mile on her most recent start, beating Fiercy Lucy by over a length in the G3 Irish EBF Stakes at the Curragh. More will be needed, and she is bred for further over time.
Anna Swan could be the value in the betting for Sir Michael Stoute. The filly is stepping up to a mile for the first time, but she has done little wrong on her first two starts on track; with both wins coming over seven furlongs.
Bet365 Fillies’ Mile Picks
Desert Flower has very obvious claims this week, but it could be worth siding with last weekend’s Arc winning connections of Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan. Tabiti has set some eye-catching figures on her first two career starts.
She was most recently very quick over six furlongs to score at Salisbury in the G3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes. Was a winner over seven furlongs on the July Course at Newmarket prior to that success.
