- The Brewers were swept by the A’s, losing 8-6 on Sunday.
- Minnesota came up short against Toronto, falling 7-6.
- The Twins are 252-237 in their all-time history against Milwaukee.
The Brewers (34-32) and the Twins (33-33) will meet in a key interleague bout. Both teams are near the tops of their divisions, despite mediocre records. The abysmal central divisions have them still in the mix.

Preview
Milwaukee was swept by the worst team in baseball over the weekend, losing all 3 games to the Athletics. They were outscored 15-9 in a truly concerning series. The Brewers are fortunate to remain just 1 game out of 1st place in the NL Central division, despite their 34-32 record. That keeps them alive, but they’ll need to completely reevaluate the team and find some solutions after a truly awful home series sweep.
The Twins snapped a 5-game losing streak with a series win over the Blue Jays, but lost their momentum at the end. They had a chance to sweep Toronto, but blew a 5-run lead on Sunday, dropping back to exactly .500 on the season. Minnesota remains in 1st place in the AL Central, despite that record, benefiting from a weak division just like the Brewers. They can prove themselves with a series win here.
Prediction
This is a matchup between two struggling teams being held up by poor divisions. They are pretty evenly matched, though the Twins will have the home-field advantage in this series. In this first game, Milwaukee will benefit from having Corbin Burnes (3.36 ERA) on the mound against Pablo Lopez (4.25 ERA). It could go either way, but I see the Brewers getting a much-needed rebound win in this game against the Twins.
