LF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is proving to be an excellent acquisition, leading the offense with a .310 batting average. They’ll have a chance to keep winning against Pittsburgh.
The Pirates are desperately trying to salvage their hot start. They’ve won 2 of their last 3 games, but had previously gone 1-11 over the 12 games prior. That stretch erased Pittsburgh’s lead in the NL Central, yet they remain just 1 game behind the Brewers. The Diamondbacks will be starting Zac Gallen (2.35 ERA) who has a notable advantage over Johan Oviedo (5.14 ERA) of the Pirates. It’s not a lock, but I feel pretty good about Arizona’s chances of winning.
