They’ve gone 5-2 over the last week, continuing to prove that last season’s improvements are here to stay. The Orioles have a great chance to climb the standings even further. Their next 15 games are against the 5-11 Nationals, 4-12 Royals, 5-9 Tigers, and 8-9 Red Sox. They’re currently in 4th place in a tough division.
The Nationals managed to snap their 2nd 4-game losing streak of the year, taking down the Guardians in a 1-run battle. Washington has yet to win a series this season, going 1-2, 0-3, 2-2, 1-2, and 1-2 in their 5 series thus far. They currently sit in last place in the NL East with a -20 run differential. The Nationals have really struggled to put together a good season since their 2019 title. They’ll try to get back on track here.
Prediction
The Orioles are the tougher team in this matchup, and are likely to win the series. That being said, this game is a lot less of a guarantee. On the mound for Baltimore will be Dean Kremer (9.49 ERA), who has had a brutal start to the season. Kremer gave up 4 or more ER in each of his 3 games so far this season, getting pulled early each time. I think the Nationals have enough pop to take down Kremer at home here.
