Fight Preview
Max Holloway (24-7) is returning to the Octagon some four months after derailing the Arnold Allen hype. Now, he’s locking horns with The Korean Zombie (17-7) in a fight that could decide which of them is going to get another shot at the UFC Featherweight title in the future. As a reminder, both Holloway and Jung Chan-sung fought against Alexander Volkanovski for the 145lb title last year, and both ended up empty-handed.
Actually, Holloway fought Volk three times, losing by decision each time. He did, however, showed his fantastic takedown defense in those fights. The Australian fighter is widely considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the UFC, but he failed to record a single takedown in two of the three fights with Holloway. In comparison, when he fought The Korean Zombie, he made four TDs.
But Volk did not beat Jung Chan-sung by submission; instead, he did it by a technical knockout, which was the fourth time this guy lost by KO/TKO. This fact should worry the South Korean as on August 26, he’s squaring off against one of the best strikers in the history of mixed martial arts.
Holloway averages 7.16 significant strikes per minute, which is the highest number in the UFC Featherweight Division. An even more impressive fact is that he holds the record for the most significant strikes landed in this promotion. He’s landed a total of 3,122 in his 11+ year-long UFC career.

Max Holloway should have no problems beating The Korean Zombie on August 26. He’s a much, much better striker than Jung Chan-sung, while also having fantastic TD defense, which should prevent his opponent from landing any TDs.
