Fight Preview

Leon Edwards is the reigning champion who won the title by turning the lights off for Kamaru Usman with less than a minute left on the clock in the final round. Many thought it was a lucky strike, but there’s footage of “Rocky” working on the move before the fight.

As if that wasn’t enough, he proved everyone he’s championship material by defending the title against the same opponent. It happened back in March when we saw him beat Usman by points. It was a majority decision win due to the fact that he was deducted a point for holding the fence.

The reason why Usman is important for the Edwards vs. Covington fight discussion is that Colby lost to this guy on two occasions. The first of those was in 2019 when Usman beat him by a TKO. Two years later, he beat him by decision.

Colby went inside the Octagon only once after that loss. In March 2022, he beat Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision. It was a real war that the UFC crowned the Fight of the Night.

Six hundred and fifty-one days later, “Chaos” is fighting again. Does he have ring rust or his thirst for fighting will help him get ahold of the title?

Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington Prediction

If there’s one thing that we’re 100% certain about it’s that the crowd at T-Mobile Arena will be on Colby’s side. He might be somewhat controversial, but MMA fans love this guy. With the crowd cheering him on, Colby could take the fight to the distance. Still, we do think his opponent is more likely to win in the end.
