Cory Sandhagen vs. Deiveson Figueiredo Preview
Cory Sandhagen is 17-5 overall, and he can be proud of his performances in all of those fights, including the ones that he didn’t win. The thing is that all of his losses happened against elite opponents.
For example, in his most recent fight, he lost to Umar Nurmagomedov by decision in a title eliminator fight that took place in Abu Dhabi where the crowd was cheering for his opponent.
Deiveson Figueiredo’s story is similar. He’s a former two-time champ whose overall record is 24-4-1. In his most recent fight, he lost to Petr Yan by decision in Macau SAR, China.
It doesn’t sound too bad, but if you watched the fight, you’d know that he got beaten up by the Russian. He got hit 121 times, which is more than twice as many times as he landed. So, the fact that he didn’t get finished is actually a good achievement considering everything.
Cory Sandhagen vs. Deiveson Figueiredo Prediction
These two are elite bantamweights, which is why it’s kind of surprising that The Sandman is seen as such a huge favorite with UFC Iowa odds of -550. We do think he’s going to win, but we don’t think he’s going to have an easy job on May 3.
