Fight Preview

The Blanchfield vs. Namajunas will serve as the co-main event of UFC Edmonton a.k.a. UFC Fight Night 246. The event is headlined by Brandon Moreno vs. Amir Albazi, which is a fight you can read about in our UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Albazi preview.

Unlike the main event, the Blanchfield vs. Namajunas won’t be a 5-rounder. Instead, these two will fight for a maximum of 3 rounds, and our prediction is that both of them will get through those 15 minutes. But who’s going to win in the end?

It’s really a coin toss. Namajunas is 13-6 overall, and has plenty of experience fighting at an elite level. Since moving to the flyweight division, she’s 2-1 with each of those going the distance.

She did very well striking-wise in all of those fights, although she just doesn’t seem to have the power to finish her opponents.

We don’t think she’ll finish Blanchfield either, who’s famous for her toughness. She’s 12-2, with both of her losses happening by decision. This includes the loss to Manon Fiorot in her most recent fight, in which she got hit 172 times.

Erin Blanchfield vs. Rose Namajunas Prediction

Who’s going to win the Blanchfield vs. Namajunas fight next Saturday? We think that each fighter has an equal chance of winning, and we’ll go for the one with better betting value. It’s “Thug Rose” who might be able to land just enough significant strikes to win over the judges.
