Fight Preview
Last December, Bryce Mitchell suffered his first-ever loss. Ilia Topuria beat him by a submission in round 2. That’s kind of strange because “Thug Nasty” is one of the best grapplers in the featherweight division. He’s a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu who’s got a submission-to-win ratio of 60%.
In his last three UFC fights, we saw him land a total of 12 takedowns. When it comes to striking, although he doesn’t land too many punches and kicks, his strikes are powerful. But so are Dan Ige’s. Plus, “50K” is landing a lot more strikes. He’s making 3.96 significant strikes per minute, which is almost twice as many as Mitchell.

He’s also very tough, with zero losses inside the distance. He did lose six times in his 23 fights, with four of those happening since the start of the decade. However, all of his losses happened against elite opponents. So, the big question is whether Mitchell is elite enough to beat him.
Mitchell vs. Ige Prediction
We think Bryce Mitchell will win this fight, but we don’t think he’s going to get a finish. Instead, he and Ige will fight until the very end, but that’s when we expect the judges to score in Mitchell’s favor.
