Fight Preview
Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez is 19-4-1 overall with most of his losses happening to elite featherweights. For example, in his most recent fight, he lost to Alexander Volkanovski by a technical knockout in a fight for the title.
It was a TKO finish, but Volk really exploited Rodriguez’s poor wrestling, making seven takedowns in that fight. Actually, Rodriguez suffered 15 takedowns in total in his last five fights. One of those happened in his 2022 fight with Brian “T-City” Ortega (15-3-1).
Ortega hasn’t fought since that fight, which he lost by a TKO after his shoulder popped out of its socket. Before that, he was doing well, although the two fought for only about four minutes in total.
Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian Ortega 2 Prediction
Yair Rodriguez is a hell of a striker, but his wrestling was no good in the past. Has he improved his takedown defense?

We don’t think so. Rodriguez just isn’t a good wrestler and that’s precisely what we think Brian Ortega will try to exploit. We think he can take Rodriguez down and finish him with ground and pound.
