Fight Preview

Beneil Dariush (22-5-1) is trying to bounce back from a first-round loss to Charles Oliveira some five months ago. He’s taking on Arman Tsarukyan (20-3) who’s trying to win a third fight in a row.

Both of them are well-rounded fighters, with Dariush being an expert in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tsarukyan being one of the best freestyle wrestlers in the UFC.

Darius, who’s a former IBJJF world champ, has lost only one fight by submission in his MMA career. It happened in 2015 when he was only starting in the UFC. He’s got a takedown defense of 80%, but we’re not sure this is going to work for him in Austin.

It’s because his opponent makes 3.43 takedowns per fight on average. In his last two fights – vs. Damier Ismagulov and Joaquim Silva – we saw him record a total of 11 TDs.

Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan Prediction

The UFC on ESPN: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan odds suggest Tsarukyan is more likely to win. We can only agree because this guy’s just been way more impressive than Dariush in recent times.

He’s quicker, tougher, and much better when it comes to wrestling. We think he’s gonna take his opponent down and keep him pinned to the floor long enough to win over the judges.
