Fight Preview
When UFC Vegas 81 odds were released, Michael Pereira was a -120 against Marc-Andre Barriault. After getting a new opponent for October 14, Pereira’s odds have moved to -140 at some betting sites. The main reason is that Andre Petroski just hasn’t had much time to prepare for the bout.
But neither has Pereira – he was preparing for a fight against a knockout expert, but now he’s locking horns with a fighter who’s more well-rounded than Barriault.
Petroski is 10-1 overall with his only loss happening before he moved to the UFC. In Dana White’s promotion, he’s 5-0 with three finishes. This guy is landing 3.68 strikes per minute in the UFC, while also making 4.56 takedowns per fight on average.

Pereira is 16-6-1 in his professional career, with 10 of his wins happening by a knockout/technical knockout. Striking is his strongest weapon – he’s landing 5.09 incredibly powerful strikes per minute.
Further, his takedown defense is 94%, which is among the best in the entire UFC. However, there’s an explanation for this. Only one of his eight opponents in the UFC had a TD average of over 1.00.
Michael Pereira vs. Andre Petroski Prediction
The Pereira vs. Petroski odds suggest that the Brazilian fighter will win at UFC Vegas 81, but we’re not so sure about that. The thing is that Petroski is just so good when it comes to wrestling that he’s almost certainly going to take Pereira down. And once he puts him down to the ground, it shouldn’t be too difficult for Petroski to finish his opponent.
