Fight Preview
After winning three Performance of the Night bonuses in a row, everyone thought that Tai Tuivasa (14-6) could become the next big thing in the UFC Heavyweight division. However, he then got KO-ed by Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich, before losing to Alexander Volkov by submission.
He’s on a three-fight losing skid, but Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura odds suggest that he might bounce back. Bam Bam is a -130 favorite to win the UFC Vegas 88 headliner.
One of the reasons for that is that he’s already dug himself once out of the pit a few years ago. After losing against Junior dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov, and Serghei Spivac, he went on to win the next five fights.
But he needs to be very careful on March 16 as Marcin Tybura (24-8) is a force to be reckoned with. He might not have the punching power that Tuivasa possesses, but he’s got plenty of weapons in his arsenal.
The Polish fighter is a decent wrestler and is very good in the clinch. However, if there’s one weakness he’s got, it’s his chin. Sure, he’s a tough guy, but the evidence is that five of his eight professional losses happened by KO/TKO.
Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura Prediction
Tai Tuivasa is someone who can finish any fight with one punch. That exactly is the type of fighter Marcin Tybura doesn’t do great against. We think the UFC Vegas 88 main event is Tuivasa’s comeback fight that will make him relevant in the heavyweight division once again.
