Event Preview
There are few bigger events on the annual motorsport schedule in North America than the Daytona 500. This year’s event will once again cover the 500-mile distance, with a total of 200 laps being completed by the field at Daytona International Speedway.
Shane van Gisbergen will be making his debut in the race for the Trackhouse Racing team, while a number of teams will also be making their debut appearances in the Daytona 500. Among those include JR Motorsports, Tricon Garage and the Haas Factory Team.
A massive field of 40 drivers will contest the Daytona 500 this weekend, including Helio Castroneves, who has been guaranteed a spot in the race regardless of his qualifying position on Friday.

Only four previous drivers have recorded victories in successive years, with Denny Hamlin becoming the latest driver to join the greats in 2020. William Byron will be a leading contender to achieve the same feat in 2025 after winning the race last year.
Chase Elliott should bring good confidence into the Daytona 500 after dominating in last weekend’s prep race after leading for over 170 laps. Kyle Larson is also an interesting price despite having dropped away tamely in the closing rounds of the playoffs in 2024.

Christopher Bell has been unfortunate in the last two editions of the Daytona 500 after finishing third in successive years. However, 2025 could be his chance to finally get a first win in the famous race.
