Event Preview
The end of the NASCAR regular season is fast approaching, with just three rounds remaining. This weekend’s Verizon 200 at the Brickyard will be the penultimate race of the season to be staged on a road course, and there will be important points up for grabs in the race for a spot in the round of 16. The race is one of the newest on the circuit, as it was first staged in 2021.
Drivers will complete a total of 199.998 miles, which is made up by 82 laps. The first stage will see the opening 15 laps, before stages two and three will see 20 and 47 laps completed, respectively. Chevrolet has manufactured the winner of this race in each of the previous two years, while A J Allmendinger and Tyler Reddick are the only two drivers to have won this race.

It will be an important race in terms of playoff places, with a number of talented drivers located around the cut off point. Those include Chase Elliott, who sits 22nd in the overall standings. The former champion will need to bounce back to form after finishing 36th in the FireKeepers Casino 400 last weekend.
Martin Truex Jr won the previous road course race this season, as he landed success in the Save Mart 350. He remains at the top of the standings at this stage of the season, and he will come into one of the final races of the season in excellent confidence after finishing second in last weekend’s race.
Verizon 200 at the Brickyard Prediction
There is no shortage of leading contenders this weekend. However, a chance will be taken on A J Allmendinger. The driver won this race in 2021, and gravely needs a positive result this weekend, as he sits 19th in the overall standings.
