This weekend’s race comes at a crucial stage of the season, as the battle for vital points in the battle for a playoff spot is heating up. Chase Elliott sits top of the Drivers’ Championship at this stage after finishing ninth in last weekend’s Great American Getaway 400. However, his advantage remains a slender one, with Kyle Larson sitting just a few points behind in second.
Denny Hamlin deserves a lot of respect this weekend, as he has been ultra consistent throughout the 2024 season. The American sits fourth in the overall standings, and will be chasing a fourth win of the season this weekend. He enjoyed a strong finish in last weekend’s race after finishing second.
