  • Joel Embiid is expected to come back after missing four games.
  • Who will score more tonight, Jayson Tatum or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

Six games of the 2024 NBA are on the program on January 2, which is more than enough for prop betting fans. In fact, we’ve picked out a couple of props that we think are going to win.

One of those is the Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers game, in which we could see Joel Embiid returning after a 10-day hiatus. Another game interesting for NBA props is Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, in which Jayson Tatum will try to outscore Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Will he concede? Let’s see.

Celtics vs. Thunder

Game Preview

Bookies see the Celtics as the favorites to win tonight’s game in Oklahoma, mainly because these guys have been in phenomenal form, winning nine of their last 10 games. If the Thunder want to stop the Celtics, their best player needs to go crazy with scoring.

The main in question is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who’s averaging 31.2 points this season. We expect him do to well tonight, but will he score more than Boston’s points leader Jayson Tatum (26.9 PPG)? He’ll have to if he wants to lead Oklahoma to victory.

Game Preview

In their last game, the Philadelphia 76ers scored only 92 points, which is their lowest number since May. What’s the reason? It’s that they were without the league’s scoring leader Joel Embiid.

In fact, he missed Philly’s last four games due to an ankle injury, but we could see him come back tonight against the Chicago Bulls.

Embiid might play, but we doubt he’s gonna spend too much time on the court. In turn, he probably won’t score anywhere near his average of 35.0 PPG. In fact, we think he’s going to score under 34.5 points, which is the margin set by the BetUS oddsmakers.
