Golden State opened their tour through the West with a loss in Atlanta to the Hawks, 124-115. Steph Curry didn’t play, which was immediately felt on the floor. Even though the Warriors scored 16 threes in 38 attempts, they couldn’t win.
Jimmy Butler scored a team-high 25 points, shooting 1-for-7 from downtown. Manuel Moody added 20 points, and Brad Podziemski had 19.
The Miami Heat played routinely against the Charlotte Hornets, beating the rivals from North Carolina 122-105. It was Andrew Wiggins’s night, with the former No.1 pick dropping 42 points, his second-best scoring production in the NBA.
