Picks

Miami picked up another key win in Game 4, taking a 3-1 lead in their series against the Knicks. It wasn’t a complete blowout like Game 3, but the Heat controlled the game from start to finish, never allowing New York to regain the lead. They’re now 3-0 in the series in games where Jimmy Butler played, and have an ideal opportunity to close things out in Game 5. Their defense and 3-point shooting has been tremendous.

The Knicks are in trouble, trailing the Heat 3-1. They have the benefit of being the higher seed, which will allow them to play at home for 2 of the 3 potential games left in this series. New York has dealt with a myriad of injuries during the playoffs, most notable to Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Quentin Grimes, and Immanuel Quickley. They need to find a completely new game plan to have a shot at salvaging this series.

Picks

New York has looked far worse in this series than I expected, and seems likely to bow out of the playoffs soon. While a comeback is not impossible, it seems unlikely that the Knicks would manage to win three straight games against a Heat team that has thoroughly dominated them so far. New York may win here, and then lose in Game 6 in Miami, but I honestly see them losing at home in Game 5. I’m taking the Heat.
