Game Preview

New York continues to win and lose in bursts. After their 9-game winning streak was snapped a month ago, the Knicks have lost 3 in a row, won 3 in a row, lost 3 in a row, and now won 3 in a row. If they continue that pattern, they’ll lose this game, so they’ll attempt to break it before the playoffs start. It won’t be an easy task on the road without Julius Randle. RJ Barrett also missed the last game due to an illness.

The Pacers are 1-5 over their last 6 games, and continue to flail down the stretch. After starting the season 23-18, Indiana fell apart and was never able to bounce back, going 11-27 since. They’ll focus on trying to find more positives in their final few games before pivoting their focus to the NBA Draft, where they are currently projected to receive the 6th-overall pick, and could win up even higher in the lottery.

Picks

While it’s true that the Knicks have been playing well and the Pacers haven’t, I’m surprised the spread is so large with key players out for New York. Julius Randle, the Knicks top-scorer and leader, will miss another game due to a foot injury, and RJ Barrett’s status is still uncertain. Couple with the disadvantage of being on the road, and this could be a close game. I still see the Knicks winning it, but I’ll take Indiana to cover.
