Game Preview
The Knicks lost the first game, then trashed the Pacers in the second before losing to the Cavaliers, 110-104, in front of a packed Madison Square Garden. This wasn’t expected, and both the fans and the players left the arena hugely disappointed. After all, they are one of the NBA title contenders this year.
Jalen Brunson did score 21 points, though hitting 33% of his shots, 8-for-24. KAT had 13 and 10 boards, while Mikal Bridges scored 19. Josh Hart posted another double-double with 16 points and 13 boards, yet with five turnovers.
Miami opened the season with a loss and, after that, posted back-to-back victories. One was on the road in Charlotte, where they beat the Hornets, 114-106, and the other at home vs. Detroit Pistons, 106-98.
Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier led the Knicks in scoring with 23 and 20 points, respectively. Scary Terry made five threes, while Tyler Herro scored 19 but shot poorly: 7-for-20.
