Game Preview
The Mavs have another rocky road challenge. After visiting the Suns in Phoenix, they are heading to Minneapolis to meet the Timberwolves. Both teams are potential playoff rivals, and we’ve seen the Mavs clash with them in the last two postseasons.
Luka and the crew lost to the Suns, 114-102. The Slovenian scored 40 points with ten boards, Kyrie Irving added 22, and Klay Thompson scored 19. These three guys were the only ones with double-digit points.
The Timberwolves won back-to-back events after losing to the LA Lakers in the opener. The first was a tight win over the Kings in Sacramento, 117-115, and then at home vs. Raptors, 112-101.
Balanced scoring was the key to the victory here, with the T-Wolves having six players with 10+ points and Jaden McDaniels, who had nine buckets. Julius Randle and Edwards both scored 24 points each.
Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Head to Head
During the regular season, the result in the series was 3-1 for the Timberwolves. However, the playoffs were totally different, with the Mavs eliminating the Wolves in five games.
Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Prediction
Mavs are obviously dependent on Luka and three-point shooting too much, and even though we do respect their quality, we need to side with the Timberwolves here. Randle is slowly blending in, and overall, Minnesota has looked better so far in these couple of matches.
