Nikola Jokic is a two-time NBA MVP award winner who failed to win it for the third time in a row this year. He did sit at the top of the favorites table throughout the regular season, but at one point, Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid took over the lead and never looked back.

Not winning the accolade doesn’t mean Jokic wasn’t impressive in the 2022-23 regular season. On the contrary, the Serbia center recorded 29 triple doubles. Then, in the postseason, Jokic really switched to the top gear.
