This matchup is interesting for a number of reasons, starting with the fact that the 76ers lead the series 1-0. They beat the Celtics in Boston two days ago, even though they were without their best player Joel Embiid.

The No. 1 favorite to win the NBA MVP award missed that game due to an injury (and will probably miss tonight’s game as well), but James Harden made everyone forget about him. The bearded point guard scored 46 points that evening – his best record in the playoffs in history.

Can he do something similar in Game 2? Oddsmakers have set Harden’s point margin at 24.5 points, and we think “under” is going to hit (at -115 odds). This is because the Celtics are bound to do much better defensively than in the previous game.

There are several excellent defenders on Boston’s roster, starting with last season’s NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart. This guy’s made 10 steals in the last seven games, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he recorded at least one in tonight’s game.
