Alabama has now won 10 of their last 11 games, with the sole loss coming at #6 Tennessee. Their stellar play was finally noticed by the AP Voters, who sent the Crimson Tide up 8 spots from #24 to #16. They’ve already been rewarded by bracketologists, who currently have Alabama projected to receive a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament. They can continue their climb by pulling off an upset and season sweep of Auburn.

Auburn is in a similar position as Alabama. They’ve won 13 of their last 15 games, climbing to #12 in the AP Poll and a projected 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers are undefeated at home this season, and will look to take advantage of that in this rematch against Alabama. They lost narrowly to the Crimson Tide on the road, but will be at home this time around. F Johni Broome continues to lead the way for Auburn.

Prediction

This should be an excellent matchup between two very similar SEC teams. They played a very close game at Alabama just a couple of weeks ago, so I expect another competitive result at Auburn. With home-court advantage on their side, I like Auburn’s chances of tying up the season series with Alabama in this game.
