Preview

Baylor has traded wins and losses over the past couple weeks, remaining just inside the top-25 rankings. They are not at risk of missing the NCAA Tournament, but have lost some positioning in the Big-12 during that span. The Bears rely on their defense to lead the way, but they often do so at the expense of their offense. They’ll need to find a new gear on offense to come away with a win on the road over Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has been quietly surging as of late, rising into 1st place in the Big-12 with an 11-1 conference record. The one loss came on the road against 2nd-place Kansas State, whom they later got revenge on at home. Despite their excellent play, they remain ranked just #23 after a 6-5 start limited them earlier in the season. The Sooners have a chance to make people take notice with two more ranked matchups up next.

Prediction

This should be another well-fought Big-12 matchup between two ranked teams. Baylor’s intense defense makes them impossible to overlook, but they’ll have a few key disadvantages in this game. Oklahoma is scorching hot, and will also have the home-court advantage here. I like the Sooners chances of winning it.
