Preview

Baylor sits in 5th place in a hyper-competitive Big-12 conference. They went 11-0 in non-conference play, but have posted a 9-6 record since their Big-12 slate began. The Bears have one of the nation’s best defenses, but have struggled to find consistency on offense. Even so, Baylor is essentially a lock to make the NCAA Tournament, and is now just competing for momentum and a better seeding in the bracket.

West Virginia holds an impressive 22-4 record, but also hasn’t had the toughest strength of schedule. Despite that, an 11-4 Big-12 record is nothing to sneeze at, and the Mountaineers have been winning at home at a consistent rate. They’ll likely hold the upper hand in this game against Baylor, after losing to them on the road by 7 points a couple of weeks ago. West Virginia is led on offense by Junior JJ Quinerly.

Prediction

This should be an exciting and competitive game between two teams that are almost certain to make the NCAA Tournament. I see them matching up pretty evenly. After winning at home by single digits, I would not be surprised if Baylor loses by a similar margin on the road. I’ll take West Virginia to get the win here.
