Preview
Colorado continues to improve their standing on the tournament bubble. After a brutal 1-4 stretch caused them to drop out of the projected field, the Buffaloes have won four straight games, climbing to a 10-seed in our latest Bracketology projections. They still sit right on the edge of the field, and have work to do to make a case for an at-large bid. A road win over Oregon here could lock KJ Simpson and the Buffaloes in.
Oregon dropped to 19-10 in their loss to Arizona, remaining in a peculiar position. Despite their 11-7 conference record, the Ducks are not considered to be a tournament team by most. Their NET ranking of #64 is not ideal, but Oregon should be closer to the field than some expect. They are in desperate need of wins against other potential tournament teams. A loss at home here may well end their at-large chances.
Prediction
When these two last faced off back in January, Colorado surged ahead to a 16-point victory. They’ll face a tougher task in the rematch on the road, but should still have a good chance of winning. This isn’t quite a “bubble elimination game”, but it certainly has enormous bubble stakes. I like Colorado to win a close one.
