Preview

Florida State won their 4th straight game on Sunday, improving to 11-3 on the season. They started out 2-0 in ACC play, but will immediately face their toughest test of the year in this game. They’ll head on the road to take on #3 NC State, hoping to hand the Wolfpack their first loss of the season. The Seminoles are led by 2nd-year Guard Ta’Niya Latson, who averages over 20 ppg and just scored 30 against Wake Forest.

NC State is one of the final 7 undefeated teams in women’s college basketball, and the last in the ACC. After a down year where they went just 20-12, the Wolfpack have surged back to form, dominating their opposition on a daily basis. NC State’s starting five have all taken big steps forward from last year, but it’s the presence of their three highly-rated Freshman off the bench that has made a key difference this year.

Prediction

This should be an excellent matchup between two of the ACC’s best teams this season. NC State leads the way currently, with top-15 wins against UConn and Colorado under their belt. They’ll be aiming to add to their ranked win total against Florida State in this game. The Seminoles are battle-tested by a tough schedule of their own, and should keep this close. Ultimately, I like the Wolfpack to pull away and win here.

NCAAW Picks:

  • NC State 77, Florida State 68 ()
