- Kansas lost badly to Texas Tech on Monday, 79-50, and fell to 19-6 on the year.
- Oklahoma came up well short at Baylor on Tuesday, losing by a score of 79-62.
- These two teams last faced off on January 13, in a game that Kansas won 78-66.
Selection Sunday is just a month away! Let’s look at the upcoming matchup between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma Sooners. Both are expected to make the tournament, but can still improve their seeds.

Preview
Kansas continues to have troubles, after losing badly to Texas Tech. They’ve now lost 4 consecutive road games, highlighting a notable weakness for this Jayhawks squad. With NCAA Tournament games played on a neutral court, the Jayhawks would benefit from picking up some wins away from Allen Fieldhouse. Their projected seed has fallen from the 1-line to a borderline 3-seed. They’ll look to stop their slide here.
Oklahoma fell to 3-4 over their last seven games following their loss to Baylor. The Sooners remain safely in the projected NCAA Tournament field, but have seen their seeding take quite a hit. They can move back in the right direction by splitting this season series with the Jayhawks. Though they lost at Kansas by 12 a month ago, they’ll be at home this time. Siena transfer Javian McCollum is leading the Sooners in scoring.
Prediction
This should be another competitive game in the gauntlet that is the Big-12. Both of these teams have cooled off as of late, sliding to 5th and 8th place in the conference. That being said, Kansas’ 4-game losing streak on the road is a notable aspect of this game. I like Oklahoma’s chances of winning at home.
