Marquette has risen to a 2-seed in the projected NCAA Tournament field, after winning 11 of their last 12 games. They sit in 2nd place in the Big East, with this game having a major impact on the standings. The Golden Eagles are just two games behind UConn for 1st place, with a game at home against the Huskies up next. If they can win here against Creighton, they’ll remain alive for the conference title against UConn.

Creighton bounced back from a tough road loss to St. John’s with a stellar win over Seton Hall. The Bluejays have been unbeatable on their home court as of late. In their last three home games, they’ve won by an average of 21 points per game, with one of those wins against #3 UConn. Creighton is trying to capitalize on their experienced roster, before some of their key players graduate during the offseason.

Prediction

This should be an excellent matchup between two of the three top-ranked Big East teams. With the way that Creighton has been playing at home lately, it would be difficult to bet on Marquette here. That being said, the Golden Eagles did win the first matchup between the two, and have played great basketball lately. I see them competing to the very end, but ultimately coming up short on the road against Creighton.
